SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Cash Rinker played for the Grays for six summers. Cooper Nider played for the Grays during the summer of 2025. Both were standouts for their high school programs, fierce competitors, and went on to play collegiate baseball. While both men were talented players, they were better human beings — men of character and resilience.

Cash and Cooper were taken from us in a car crash in July 2026. To honor them and carry their legacies forward, the Grays have established two annual player fee scholarships.

•   Beginning with the 2026/2027 baseball and fastpitch seasons, the Grays will award two players $250 each toward their annual player fees.

•   Coaches may nominate a player on need or merit. Players and families may apply based on need.

•   Every submission is reviewed by the Board of Directors. No player will receive more than one award during their time with the Grays.

•   Character — treats teammates, opponents, umpires, and fans with respect — on the field and off.

•   Resilience — answers a slump, an injury, or a hard loss with work rather than excuses.

•   Competitiveness — brings real effort and preparation to every practice and every inning.

•   Teammate — makes the players around them better and represents the Grays well.

•   Need — player fees are a genuine obstacle to this player’s season.
